Dear students,

Welcome to our faculty, which was established with the aim of training entrepreneurial pharmacists as the first students of Istanbul Kent University Faculty of Pharmacy in the 2024-2025 Academic Year.

With our belief in multidisciplinary and product development-focused education, you will graduate as pharmacists who will be able to make discoveries that will contribute to our society and our country's economy and who have made entrepreneurial pharmacy a career goal. Throughout your education, you will not only be supported by our faculty members and staff working in our faculty, but also by our university's presence in the pharmaceutical industry sector and our research and development (R&D) collaboration partners.

As a faculty that will train graduates who have professional ethics and professional standards, are open to lifelong learning and production, and are sought after both in the business world and in academia, in addition to our curriculum supported by elective and field courses, we plan to include you in our research projects starting from the first years of your education in order to guide our students on how to combine theoretical pharmacy sciences with practice.

We have made the necessary investments and established our academic staff in order to train you, the future of our country, in accordance with our goals. Many of our full-time faculty members working in our faculty have completed their doctoral studies or post-doctoral research in very distinguished universities abroad, and continue their work as visiting faculty members in universities ranked in the top 100 in the QS-world's best universities list. Our academic staff consists of both young and experienced faculty members, most of whom are pharmacists, who have signed and continue to sign numerous student projects supported by the Presidency of the Health Institutes of Turkey (TÜSEB) and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK), who have published in the world's best journals.

Academicians with high R&D capabilities who have signed high-impact projects with the companies they have founded, who have continuously worked with the industry in the fields of medicine, food, cosmetics and food supplements, who provide consultancy to leading companies in the sector, and who have made a name for themselves with national and international projects and awards they have won have joined the academic staff of Istanbul Kent University Faculty of Pharmacy.

Setting goals also requires creating the infrastructure to achieve these goals. In order to become an entrepreneur or a pharmacist sought after by the pharmaceutical industry, it is necessary to graduate with serious equipment. This equipment also requires having the opportunity to work with many laboratory devices, being present in production facilities, and being present at all stages of a product from raw material to preparation. In order for our students to have the opportunity to experience all these experiences within their universities during their undergraduate education, the Istanbul Kent University administration and academic staff are establishing three different research centers and three different production centers under the roof of the Faculty of Pharmacy. Istanbul Kent University Faculty of Pharmacy students will be able to easily realize their dream of working as an entrepreneurial pharmacist or a pharmacist sought after in the pharmaceutical industry, not only in these research centers and production centers, but also thanks to the unique physical and technical infrastructure of the laboratories they own.

As Istanbul Kent University Faculty of Pharmacy, we do not think in a single way while preparing our students for life: We will ensure that our students who will choose to become community pharmacy pharmacists take lessons from academics with pharmacy experience so that they can provide the best service to their patients. Thanks to the human network we have established on the basis that many pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food companies will continue their work with the faculty members of the Faculty of Pharmacy in our faculty's production facilities and R&D laboratories, we aim to ensure that our students who will prefer to work in the pharmaceutical industry are compared with the doyens of the pharmaceutical industry and that their knowledge and experience are transferred to our students. Unlike other pharmacy faculties in our country, in the most comprehensive production centers established under the roof of Istanbul Kent University Faculty of Pharmacy, we will be making our mark on many innovations in Turkey by ensuring that our students gain experience in every field related to the industry within their own faculties without going to industrial zones under the supervision of our faculty members and that they constantly develop themselves in touch with industry and science.
